I was 49 years old. 6’1″ and a maximum weight of 402 lbs. I was 386 lbs on the day of my surgery (5/9/2019). Now just a few days later (5/12/2019) I’m already down to 377 lbs. – https://www.lose100.com/wordpress/index.php/about/

Today is day 15 and I’m down to 361. I feel good. Cloths are starting to fit me better, and I’m able to take stuff from the “wishful thinking” pile and start wearing them again.

I’ve been to the gym twice since surgery and looking forward to going back this weekend. I’m staying strict with my diet, I’m currently on stage two and going to stage three on Tuesday (4 more days). As I’m shopping for food for myself (soup/yogurt/jello/ices), I’m looking at the nutrition labels and am astounded by what I’m finding. For me, this is as much about learning to eat properly as it is losing weight. The nutrition labels are eye opening. Even things that say no-sugar added are high in sugar. They just didn’t add any extra. This is all stuff I probably should have known, but I’m lucky enough to be learning now.

I was a little upset this week because my weight kept hovering in the mid 360’s and not moving. I forget that I’ve dropped 25 lbs in about two weeks. I’m still dropping weight. Most people lose at a rate of about 1 lb a week if they are lucky. My sister took about two months to lose her last pound to reach her goal weight. I need to keep plugging away at it, stay on point and be strict with my eating. The strict with my eating has to remain for life. I keep seeing articles about weight regain after surgery. I don’t want this to happen to me. I’ve lost and regained weight before. It’s demoralizing and I don’t want it to happen again.
