I was 288 this morning, but I’ve seen a lot of 286’s and even a 283 once this week. I’m still counting calories and I think it’s working well for me. I’m totally aware that I’m weighing in a bit heavier because of my wife’s really good cooking. That said, I allow exceptions occasionally. You have to live. For lunch today I had her lasagna, but I only had a yogurt for breakfast, and I promise myself to have a protein shake for dinner instead of a full meal. I’m learning through logging my food that life is about moderation. I can pig out once in a while, but 1) it doesn’t make me feel good, both in that moment and then later stepping on the scale. and 2) I need to do things in moderation. If I overeat for one meal, I need to make it up by eating less in another meal.

So, as you can see, I’m still with yogurt, protein shakes and cottage cheese as a way to moderate my calorie intake.
