my official weigh in this week is 289! Down a pound since last week. That’s also 7 lbs since 3/5. So, slowly but surly the pounds are coming off. I think if you’re doing this, it’s incredibly important to track your weight losses. I’m doing it via this blog, but a spread sheet or notebook or something could work too. There’s no way I’d know that I’d lost 7 lbs this month unless I was marking it down someplace. The pounds come off – but it’s a slow process. I know the weight I was at when I started this, but it’s hard to remember my milestones, or dates that I dropped weight. I would have been incredibly discouraged a few times if I wasn’t able to go back and look at my progress. I could have easily went backwards if I wasn’t tracking.

We’re still in quarantine for the Covad-19 virus. I’ve seen reports of a lot of people putting on weight as a result of having to stay home. Many people are eating out of boredom. Like freshman year, a lot of people are referring to the phenomenon as the “Corona Virus 15” in reference to a the freshman 15 – which is the amount of weight a lot of students put on in the first year of college.

I’m being super careful of this. I’m sticking to my meal schedule. I’m eating a lot of fruit and vegetables I’m trying not to snack between meals. I’m back to protein shakes for one meal a day, yogurt, cottage cheese and being careful about my bread intake.

From an exercise perspective, all the local gyms are closed for the quarantine, so I’m getting out to take long walks with my kids. It’s not ideal, but it’s something.
